GQ China Men of the Year 2022

“The musical composition entitled Glitter Ball was created for GQ China’s Men of the Year event in Shanghai on December 15th, 2022. For this project, I was given a great deal of creative freedom yet still remained true to the company’s aesthetic briefing of “glamor” and “modernity”.

Axis Neptune

I have produced and released two albums along with multiple music videos under the name Axis Neptune. This music has been critically acclaimed by the BBC, Groover Obsessions, CGTN Radio, Sofar Sounds, Nugget Records, Five Pin Music, Hyper Tribe, and more. I was the first musician in history to give a live performance for BBC Introducing from the Chinese mainland.

I have performed and toured extensively through Europe and Asia with Axis Neptune. In early 2023 I toured through the Chinese province of Yunnan, and at the end of this year I will tour the United Kingdom before performing a live studio session for the BBC.

Honkai Impact

Honkai Impact 3rd is a free-to-play 3D action role-playing game developed by miHoYo, published by miHoYo in mainland China and worldwide by Cognosphere.
The Forest Capriccio Concert was streamed live and in cinemas around the world, with millions of streams on Youtube. 
I recorded and produced my vocals for the song Oaths, as well as performing the song live with the Japanese superstar, Mika Kobayashi.

People We Love Exhibition

In November of 2021 I designed soundscapes for the People We Love exhibition in York Minster Cathedral for the York Mediale arts festival. 
Five, floor mounted, high definition screens, were set in the York Minster, exquisitely lit, showing portraits of citizens.
Each person gazes at a picture of someone they love, and connects with each unspoken story as the faces tell the tale of a person they love.
I used binaural sound design techniques to create music that calms visitors while also inspiring emotions felt when thinking about a person one truly cares about.
“People We Love finds its inspiration in the book The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman by Laurence Sterne. First published in York in 1759, the book contains a blank page for the reader to imagine, draw or write about a person they love.”

Sound Design For Electric Vehicles

Since the start of 2022 I have been working as the Director of the Division of Acoustics at Changsha Automobile Innovation Research Institute. 
I am responsible for leading a team possessing expertise in sound design, sound branding, psychology, AI, engineering, and more. Our work involves everything from building sound maps of cities to determine how to better deal with noise pollution to designing outside-vehicle pedestrian warning sounds for new electric vehicles.
I have also presented my team’s research at several international conferences. Most recently, I presented my research about the subjective evaluation of sound at the 2022 FISITA Intelligent Safety Conference in Beijing, China.

Television and Radio

I have over five years’ experience as a host for television, social media, and radio. For the majority of this work I have been based in Mainland China where I have worked as a host for TikTok Live, China Radio International, CGTN, CCTV, Beijing Radio International, and NewEgg Now.
I have also worked as a producer and sound engineer for vocalists and musicians for over ten years, and am able to access a large pool of international talent for voice over work, session playing, commercial projects, and film scores.
